JOB TITLE: Lead Culinary Assistant

WORKER CATEGORY: Full-Time

LEAD CULINARY ASSISTANT SALARY: $17.00 per hour, up to $18.50 per hour on the weekends

  • Weekend Shift Differential of $1.50 per hour

LEAD CULINARY ASSISTANT ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Assist the Senior Culinary Director in overseeing daily kitchen operations.
  • Support the creation of kitchen schedules that provide consistent coverage and adequate staffing levels.
  • Assist with ordering food and kitchen supplies to ensure proper stock for menu execution.
  • Track, rotate, and manage inventory using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles.
  • Conduct inventory audits and support the annual inventory of kitchen equipment and supplies.
  • Monitor and document refrigerator, freezer, and dry storage area temperatures; report any variances to management.
  • Ensure food storage practices meet state health codes and company standards.
  • Maintain accurate records related to kitchen operations, including temperature logs and inventory reports.
  • Assist with cost control and performance evaluations as requested by management
  • Fill in and assist with cooking during open shifts to ensure consistent meal service.
  • Lead by example by demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, initiative, and a positive attitude.
  • Encourage and model safe work practices, including proper use of PPE and adherence to OSHA and DHS 89/83 regulations.
  • Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment - Ensure kitchen and appliances are kept in a neat, clean and sanitary condition - assist with ensuring that all areas of the kitchen are clean and well maintained.
